Chris uses a life span approach to help clients understand how early experiences bond to thinking and emotion, producing ineffective coping that is triggered by life situations.
Chris Rossvanes, MA, MSSA, LISW-S is a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers, the National Association of Social Workers, the American Association of Clinical Social Work and the Anxiety and Depression Association of America. He has over 20 years of experience in clinical mental health work. In addition to his practice with Advanced Counseling Solutions, he is an adjunct faculty member at Kent State University Geauga where he teaches courses in abnormal psychology.
Chris is a mental health administrator for the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction where he manages a clinical staff charged with treating high security offenders and oversees a regional team of staff members providing critical incident stress response to correctional professionals.
Chris is interested in treating individuals who feel emotional distress, focusing on motivating clients to manage their distress more effectively. He believes that our issues are as unique to us as our fingertips. Empathy and sensitivity are staples of his practice.
